2.5 to go

After a whirlwind weekend in a variety of places (see below), i return to the last 2 and a half days of my first year of teaching. Huzzah.

Friday night I went to Fayetteville, AR to play with Jalopy, a good time was had by all and I finally got to see the Fayetteville Funk Ensemble! Jeff Grey is the man, man. Then we went camping at Lake Wedington near Fayettville, it was great, nice cheap lake view site with a shower that might have been cleaner than the one at my house.... gotta take care of that....

The next day we went to my friend Jakes wedding, it was very nice, and it's only kind of weird to watch my friends get married now that the final hour approacheth.

After the reception we headed for KC and the one the only Royals loss to the mariners. i'll try to get a web album up at lunch for some of this, the pictures tell the tale.
It was nice to see the man in action for the first time. He's dreamy.
We spent some time hanging out in KC on monday (a bit longer than we had planned) and ended up staying up all night catching up on the things we'd slacked being gone for 4 days. and now we're at 2.5 days of school... hopefully i'll know what i'm doing with my life sometime this week, the potential employer has assured me that they're almost done interviewing....

The Hunt

well, after the two of us interviewed this week, we have no further assurances. it's nice, you finish your degree, go get some applied experience and then you can't register for grad classes without advisor permission. awesome. i wish he'd call back, so i could, you know, get registered for classes. it'd rock.

while we worry about weather or not we'll have our degrees paid for, we apartment hunt. our last place was a very nice loft smack in the middle of downtown. we both wanted to live somewhere nice for a change. it was great. and not cheap.

so, we've been searching for the perfect cheap apartment that is the correct proximity to MSU and downtown. we think we've found it. it is not that nice. it is, however, the right price. we'll probably sign a contract tommorow.

in unrelated news, the royals are not sucking as much, and the place that i hang out instead of myspace is getting some national recognition.

Already Gone

As you may have guessed from the title, A change of lifestyle is a' comin. I have resigned from my position in B-Town to make the return to the plateau. I'm trying to get resituated into the institution of higher learning i so recently departed from. that shit is like the womb, you spend a while trying to get out and then the rest of your life trying to get back in......

sigh.

leaving is hard, but the opportunity to work with the lady would be fabulous. also, i wouldn't mind the scheduling flexibility, it is much missed. time will tell, but one thing is for certain, 17-3 is not the kind of score we need to see from KC. thank god jason larue is injured.
